Hello everyone. I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Quinlan and I am the producer from Weight Forward Films and the director for the upcoming movie called THE GRAB.
THE GRAB is the story of an obsessed fly fisherman and his annual pilgrimages to the storied waters of Northern California in pursuit of Wild Steelhead on the fly with a two-handed rod.
We are currently in production, and have been shooting on various watersheds throughout California. It has been one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever been involved in. Myself, our camera crew and friend and guide Jason Hartwick of Steelhead On The Spey Guide Service, have been very fortunate to have had such wonderful and productive days on the water. We’ve hooked up with some great fish and of course, that is in no small part due to Jason’s knowledge and experience as a top-notch spey fishing guide.
The footage we have captured is a testament to the people that have dedicated their support and involvement. I have been very lucky to have had two long time friends and very talented cinematographers with us every step of the way. Edgar Blair of Elysium Films shot some very dynamic footage of Jason and I fishing in mid-October. Tom McCarty joined us in late November on the Klamath River and was able to capture some incredible footage, despite some very cold conditions and very tough wading.
Every step of the way, THE GRAB, has proven to be very challenging, but the rewards have far outweighed the obstacles. Spey fishing for Wild Steelhead and standing immersed in the rivers they call home is something I will never grow tired of. It is a healthy obsession that I will never shake, nor do I want to.
